ASBESTOS AWARENESS SEMINAR

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This webibar covers the requirements of the HSW (Asbestos) Regulations 2016 and Asbestos ACOP, ensuring workers that could be exposed to asbestos during construction, plumbing, electrical or demolition understand the health risks and the dangers of Asbestos. Understand where you can find asbestos containing material (ACM) and how to safely handle, remove, decontaminate and dispose of asbestos.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES:

• Introduction to Asbestos Regulations and ACOPS- Management and removal of Asbestos

• What is asbestos and how to identify Asbestos or ACM in buildings

• Asbestos health hazards: Asbestosis, Mesothelioma and other health risks associated with asbestos inhalation.

• Overview of Asbestos management plans and asbestos removal plans

• Personal and asbestos worksite decontamination

• Asbestos work and removal of up to 10m2 of Non-Friable Asbestos

• PPE use and storage

• Sampling of asbestos

• Practical demonstration session showing Asbestos Safe Work Practices (Section 11 of the Asbestos ACOP)
