Course Description
This course will give you effective training to enter a construction worksite safely. People credited with this course will gain knowledge of health and safety legislation relating to buildings and construction sites, identify and describe the risk factors that contribute to harm on construction sites, and learn how to apply the health and safety procedures to the building or construction site.
Key Learning Outcomes
- Identify and describe the risk factors that contribute to harm on construction sites.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the organisation’s health and safety procedures for construction sites.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the organisation’s health and safety procedures for construction sites.
- Identify personal protective equipment (PPE) for the workplace and describe its correct use per the organisation’s procedures.
- Explain event and near-miss notification procedures per the organisation’s procedures.
- Explain the purpose of workplace emergency procedures per the organisation’s procedures.
- Apply the organisation’s health and safety procedures under supervision for a building construction site to either a near miss or a workplace event.
Entry Criteria
Numeracy and Literacy: To complete the assessments, all students must be able to write, speak, and understand basic English.
