Course Description
People credited with this course can operate and drive a forklift in the workplace and legally on NZ roads, and can apply for an “F-endorsement” on their driver’s licence.
Key Learning Outcomes
- Describe the safe operating features of a forklift.
- Complete Pre-start checks and fault reporting.
- Identify forklift operation safety standards, rules, procedures and codes.
- Describe the legal requirements relating to driving a forklift on a road.
- Describe driving procedures and general considerations for driving a forklift safely on a road.
- Describe environmental factors affecting the safe driving of a forklift on a road.
- Demonstrate procedures for driving a forklift safely and legally on a road.
Entry Criteria
Pre-requisite: Persons seeking credit for this unit standard to obtain an F (forklift) driver licence endorsement must hold a current full class driver licence other than Class 6.
Ākonga/learners must be aged 15 years or older on enrolment.
Numeracy and Literacy: To complete the assessments, all students must be able to write, speak, and understand basic English.
