Course Description
People credited with this unit standard will be able to use a radio remote or pendant-controlled gantry crane to lift and place regular loads or refresh on the current unit standard.
Key Learning Outcomes
- Complete Pre-start checks.
- Demonstrate knowledge of using a radio remote or pendant-controlled gantry crane.
- Use of their components, equipment, and attachments.
- Sling, lifting, travelling, unloading, or placing regular loads using a radio remote or pendant-controlled gantry crane.
- Park the radio remote or pendant-controlled gantry crane and store equipment.
- Daily and weekly operator maintenance of a radio remote or pendant-controlled gantry crane.
- Complete two different assessor observed lifts.
Entry Criteria
Prerequisite: Unit 30072, Demonstrate and apply knowledge of slinging regular loads safely, or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills.
To meet the requirements of the short course training and assessment guidance, SureSafety must verify that a minimum of 50 hours or 40 lifts using a radio remote or pendant-controlled gantry crane to lift and place loads in the workplace have been completed prior to or after the course, before the unit standards can be awarded.
Numeracy and Literacy: Students must be able to write, speak, and understand basic English to complete the assessments.
