Course Description
This refresher course is designed to confirm and strengthen your existing skills. You’ll complete practical assessment activities that reinforce safe Gantry Crane operation, while also receiving updates on current regulations and industry best practice.
Key Learning Outcomes
- Complete Pre-start checks.
- Demonstrate knowledge of using a radio remote or pendant-controlled gantry crane.
- Use of their components, equipment, and attachments.
- Sling, lifting, travelling, unloading, or placing regular loads using a radio remote or pendant-controlled gantry crane.
- Park the radio remote or pendant-controlled gantry crane and store equipment.
- Daily and weekly operator maintenance of a radio remote or pendant-controlled gantry crane.
- Complete two different assessor observed lifts.
Entry Criteria
Students who refresh the unit standards should hold the current unit standard 3800. If you do not hold the unit standard, you may still enrol to upskill your current knowledge and skills.
Numeracy and Literacy: To complete the assessments, all students must be able to write, speak, and understand basic English.
Refresher Information
To remain compliant with Health and Safety legislation and industry best practice guidelines, trainees are generally required to refresh their training every three years
No units will be gained, reported or uploaded. A certificate of achievement will be provided with a new refresher date.
