HARNESS SAFETY COURSE

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to provide you with the knowledge and technical skills to identify and inspect the type of safety harness to use and to effectively connect it to a safety harness system. This course also covers risks while working at height including harness suspension and the importance of having a rescue plan to execute various rescue methods.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES:

​

At the completion of the course you will be able to:

​

• Correctly check and fit a safety harness

• Demonstrate knowledge of safety harnesses and associated systems

• Demonstrate knowledge of the hazards associated with wearing a safety harness while working at heights

• Use of a safety harness system where a fall hazard exists at height

• Demonstrate knowledge of the emergency rescue plan to be activated in the event of a fall

Numeracy and Literacy: All students must have the ability to write, speak and understand basic English to complete the assessments.
