Course Description

This course provides you with the knowledge and technical skills to understand the legal requirements for working at heights and preventing workers from falling. You will learn to plan, implement, and disestablish height safety systems while using fall devices, anchor points, and safety harnesses.

Key Learning Outcomes

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the hazards associated with wearing a safety harness and associated equipment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safety harnesses and associated systems and equipment
  • Check and fit a safety harness system.
  • Use a safety harness system where a fall hazard exists at height
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the rescue plan to be implemented in the event of a fall.

Entry Criteria

Numeracy and Literacy: All students must have the ability to write, speak and understand basic English to complete the assessments.
