Course Description

Upon completing this course, you will have the competencies necessary to identify, inspect and maintain height safety gear, including harnesses, pulley wheels, lanyards, ropes, karabiners, helmets, and supplementary equipment. Additionally, you will grasp the legal obligations, methodologies, and protocols associated with inspecting height safety equipment.

Key Learning Outcomes

  • Identify industrial rope access equipment.
  • Identify, inspect and maintain height safety equipment.
  • Identify manufacturers’ maintenance instruction.
  • Carry out maintenance procedures in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Inspect and reject damaged and/or worn equipment.
  • Record equipment inspections and maintenance procedures in log book.

Entry Criteria

Numeracy and Literacy: To complete the assessments, all students must be able to write, speak, and understand basic English.
