MOBILE ELEVATED WORK PLATFORMS (EWP) REFRESHER

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course refreshes your knowledge and skills on driving a MEWP, the legal obligations, performing a pre-start inspection and skills needed to safely operate a Mobile Elevating Work Platform by completing a workplace task.

NZQA units standards refreshed

23966: Describe types of elevating work platforms (EWPs) and legislative requirements for their use

23960: Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a scissor lift

23962: Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a self propelled boom lift

 

Optional unit standards

23961: Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a truck-mounted elevating work platform (EWP)

23963: Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a trailer mounted (cherry-picker) EWP

23964: Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a vertical lift

ENTRY CRITERIA:

Students that refresh the unit standards must hold the current unit standards.

Numeracy and Literacy: All students must have the ability to write, speak and understand basic English to complete the assessments.

4 hours​
