Course Description

This course will ensure you understand the essential roles a Permit Receiver plays when preparing, receiving and working under the conditions of the permit to work system. PR learn how to implement the system and how to monitor its effectiveness. Practical elements of permits get discussed and executed, including isolations, risk assessment and rescue plans, to reinforce learning and ensure you are confident in applying for or accepting a work permit.

Key Learning Outcomes

  • Understand and explain the types of work permits and the roles of those involved in the work permit system.
  • Explain the requirements and understand how to prepare and receive (accept) a permit when applying for a work permit.
  • Understand the legal responsibility as permit holders.
  • Understand the requirements to undertake work under the permit.
  • Describe and carry out the controls and actions to be taken at the end of a work period or upon the completion of work.

Entry Criteria

Numeracy and Literacy: To complete the assessments, all students must be able to write, speak, and understand basic English.
