WORKING AT HEIGHTS INTRODUCTION COURSE
COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to provide you with the knowledge and technical skills to understand the legal requirements around working at heights and preventing a worker from falling. You will learn to plan, implement and disestablish height safety systems while working at heights using fall devices, anchor points and safety harness.

At the completion of the course you will be able to:

Explain the legislative requirements and systems used for working at heights.

Demonstrate knowledge of safety harnesses and associated systems and equipment.

Check and fit a safety harness for working at height.

Identify anchor points and prepare to install a temporary proprietary height safety system.

Install horizontal and vertical temporary proprietary height safety systems.

Assess hazards associated with system installation and develop a suitable work method to ensure safety.

Use temporary proprietary height safety systems.
-
Disestablish temporary proprietary height safety systems.

Demonstrate knowledge of hazards associated with wearing a safety harness and associated equipment.

Use a safety harness system where a fall hazard exists at height.

Demonstrate knowledge of the rescue plan to be activated in the event of a fall.

Identify the common types of height safety equipment used in the workplace.

Identify suitable height work equipment and suitable anchor points for fall restraint and arrest systems.

Use height safety equipment and plan rescue techniques and emergency procedures for working at height.
